This has been achieved through a newly designed statistical reporting landing page, and dedicated landing pages for all 31 of the statistical reporting forms.
The newly designed pages provide an improved experience for users and support better navigation. This is achieved through having a more logical structure, clearer headings, and the surfacing of critical information from existing documents. This helps to reduce both the burden on firms when completing their returns, and the potential risk for error.
‘Better reporting pages’ was one of the recommendations made by industry in phase one of the joint transformation programme. Delivery of the statistical reporting pages is part of the Bank’s response to this recommendation and is a substantial step towards modernising reporting instructions to improve how they are written, interpreted, and implemented.
A feedback survey has been added to each of the pages to help us to further understand user experience. The feedback received will enable us to measure the success of the pages and help with continuous improvement.
The Bank collects data from firms to enable it to achieve its mission of promoting the good of the people of the United Kingdom by maintaining monetary and financial stability. Work is currently taking place to explore how the improvements made for statistical reporting can be scaled to improve firm user experience with regulatory returns.
